The Choices & Consequences
CHOICES & Consequences
The choices have consequences
Definition:
Choice - an act of choosing between two or more possibilities
Consequence - a result or effect, typically one that is unwelcome or unpleasant
Everyday I am face by choices & decisions I have to make. The choices I make has many roads, hence the choices I make affects not just me as an individual:
- my family (wife/children/aunts/in-laws/brothers/sisters)
- my work colleagues
- friends (those that actually truly are)
- others that may see me as a role model
What I decide should be in support of my choice & determined mindset for my sobriety & wellbeing. If I am not well - my family is not well. You can't love someone or others if you don't love yourself. Love begins with yourself. The choice to secure & stand by my sobriety & wellbeing has consequences. In my point of view more positive than negative. I must live with the consequences of my actions & decisions hence the desired outcome of positive / smiles / affirmations / satisfaction is preferred.
The consequences that follow you must accept & deal with, as the events / reactions that arise are in reaction to your actions. "Listen to understand & not to react"- Although others may listen to you to react to what I ask / say - it is for my own benefit & improvement that I do not fight fire with fire. My choice is not to retaliate but to accept and turn what is seen normally as an insult / negative criticism into a learning curve. I want to improve on that for myself. The fine line is PRACTICE.
Everyday make the choice that is for your well-being and sobriety. Don't look back on it and regret it. You are worth every positive choice - forgive yourself - don't judge. Be part of of a solution or set the example for the generations coming after us. If the result is not favorable or the desired positive outcome.
"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not TRYING" - Michael Jordan
